Why Other Countries Deworm Their People (And America Doesn’t)
TLDR
Most of the world deworms their people routinely. Mexico does it with synthetics a few times a year. Jamaica does it monthly with tea. Over 60 countries run school-based deworming programs. But in the US, Canada, and Australia, we act like parasites don’t exist. And that silence is costing us our health.
In this post, I break down why the rest of the world takes deworming seriously, why America skipped that chapter, and what you can do to take your health back into your own hands.
“Other countries like Mexico and Jamaica do this regularly. Jamaica does it monthly. They drink a tea. In some places it’s mandatory. Because they know this is a thing.”

I Shipped to Three Countries That Don’t Deworm. All Three Are Under Western Medicine.
When I started shipping our ParaFy kits around the world, I noticed something pretty fast.
Our three biggest countries? The US, Canada, and Australia.
And guess what those three countries have in common?
They’re all under Western medicine. And none of them have routine deworming built into their healthcare system.
Meanwhile, I’m watching countries like Mexico, Jamaica, and dozens of others across South America, Africa, and Asia treat parasite cleansing like it’s just… normal. Because it is.
Jamaica drinks a deworming tea monthly. Mexico uses synthetics a couple of times a year. In some places, it’s mandatory.
And here we are in America acting like parasites are something that only happens “over there.”
That was a huge wake-up call for me.
The Rest of the World Already Knows
Here’s the thing. The World Health Organization estimates that 1.5 billion people worldwide are infected with soil-transmitted parasites. That’s roughly 24% of the entire planet.
And their response? Over 60 countries now run school-based deworming programs. They treat kids annually or twice a year with antiparasitic medicine. No individual testing required. They just do it.
Because they understand something we’ve somehow forgotten.
Parasites are a human everybody thing.
They’re not a poverty thing. They’re not a dirty thing. They’re not a third-world thing.
They’re a living-on-earth thing.
But somewhere along the way, America decided we were above all that. We’re a first-world country. We have clean water. We have modern medicine. Parasites couldn’t possibly be our problem.
And that right there is the blind spot.
How America Lost the Plot
I spent 20 years in Western medicine. I have two healthcare degrees. I ran 25 medical colleges. I authored medical textbooks for companies like Pearson and Cengage.
And not once in all of that training was I taught to think about parasites as a real, ongoing concern for Americans.
Not once.
When I started declining in 2019, I had a surgical team, a doctor team, six practitioners helping me. Nobody could figure out what was wrong.
I had 13 surgeries. A hysterectomy at 29. Endometriosis growing on my lungs. A spot on my brain.
And not one person thought to check for parasites.
Not one person thought to check for mold.
Not one person connected the dots between my contaminated water in Washington state and what was happening inside my body.
Because that’s not how we’re trained in this country. We’re trained to treat symptoms. Not to look upstream at what’s actually causing them.
We Don’t Even Test Our Water for Worms
This one still gets me.
We got our parasites from our own water. In Washington state. Not in a developing country. Not from some exotic trip. From our water.
And when I started looking into it, I found out that our country doesn’t test for nematodes in the water supply. Nematodes are physical worms. And we just… don’t check.
So how is it that we think this can’t happen to us?
It can. And it does. Every single day.
We travel. We eat raw fish. We eat undercooked pork. We walk barefoot where our dogs poop. We drink tap water that nobody’s testing for the things that actually matter.
And then we wonder why we’re bloated, foggy, inflamed, and exhausted.

Reactive vs. Proactive
This is really what it comes down to.
Other countries are proactive about deworming. They build it into their public health systems. They teach their kids about it. It’s just part of life.
In America, we’re reactive. We wait until something goes wrong. Then we throw a pill at the symptom and hope it goes away.
I call it treating the symptoms.
And I lived that way for decades. I was the system. I taught the system. I believed in the system.
Until the system couldn’t help me.
That’s when I started looking at what other cultures were doing. What our ancestors did. What countries with far fewer resources than us were doing better than we were.
And I realized that parasite cleansing isn’t extreme.
It’s just… normal. Everywhere else.
You Don’t Need a Test. You Need a Cleanse.
One of the biggest things people ask me is, “Do I need to get tested first?”
And honestly? You don’t.
Testing for parasites is unreliable. You can test positive on one stool sample and negative on the next. These critters are evaders. They know how to hide. They change their behavior based on your body’s frequency.
That’s exactly why I made our kits so accessible and affordable. So you don’t have to jump through hoops. You don’t need a doctor’s referral. You don’t need expensive lab work that might miss them anyway.
You just need to start supporting your body the way billions of people around the world already do.
Three to four times a year minimum. That’s what I recommend. And it doesn’t have to change your life. You don’t have to stop eating. You don’t have to pause everything for 30 days.
You just take the herbs. Live your life. And let your body do what it was designed to do when you give it the right support.
What Our Community Is Saying
“I had a health crisis during the pandemic, after months of ER, doctors and specialists, as well as diet trial and error, I concluded that I have Celiacs, Interstitial cystitis and was also diagnosed with a slight hiatal hernia with tons of inflammation in my gut and esophagus. NEVER did I once consider the conditions to have an underlying cause like parasites, but NOW, my mind has been opened… I am currently ONLY on day 4 of my cleanse, and oh my god. I found several 2 inch worms in my poo along with a LOT of biofilm, mucus and some other unidentifiable worms. I am mind blown!”

What’s Actually in a Cleanse (And Why It Works)
When I built the ParaFy kit, I didn’t just throw random herbs together.
I used my training from Western medicine. I used what I learned from living in the outskirts of a rainforest. I studied herb books. I looked at what was growing on my own property. Oregon grapefruit. Usnia. Lungwort lichen.
And I realized that every ailment has an herb that matches its frequency. Like an opera singer shattering glass. Her voice hits the same frequency as the glass. That’s what these herbs do to parasites.
Wormwood goes after physical worms. Clove helps remove eggs. Black walnut hull supports the full lifecycle. Oregon grapefruit brings in berberine for inflammation and curbs your appetite so the critters can’t make you eat what they want.
And then there’s the binder. This is the piece most people miss.
When you go in with any antiparasitic, you’re offing them. But those parasites are holding heavy metals, other parasites, spores, viruses, and toxins. Up to six to eight times their own weight. When they die, all of that dumps into your body.
A binder catches it. Grabs it. Pushes it out.
That’s why we include Cinnabin in every kit. Coconut activated charcoal and cinnamon. It binds to the positively charged toxins and helps your body remove them safely.
Other countries understand this layered approach. We’re just catching up.

I’m not here to scare you. I’m here to tell you what I wish someone had told me before I lost 20 years to a system that couldn’t see what was right in front of it.
Parasites are real. They’re in our water. They’re in our food. They’re in the soil we walk on barefoot.
And most of the world already knows this.
They deworm their kids. They deworm their families. They build it into their culture.
We can do the same thing. And it doesn’t have to be complicated. It doesn’t have to be scary. It doesn’t have to be expensive.
It just has to be consistent.
We clean our homes. We filter our water. We wash our clothes. Supporting your internal environment should feel just as normal.
Not dramatic. Not dirty. Not fringe.
Just informed. Just empowered. Just human.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do other countries deworm but America doesn’t?
Most countries with routine deworming programs understand that parasites are a normal part of being human. They build preventive treatment into their public health systems. In the US, Western medicine kinda moved past parasites when we started thinking of ourselves as too developed for that. But parasites don’t care what country you live in. They’re everywhere.
How often should you do a parasite cleanse?
I recommend three to four times a year minimum. Other countries do it even more frequently. Jamaica does it monthly. The key is being proactive instead of waiting until something goes wrong. Consistency is everything.
Do I need to get tested for parasites before doing a cleanse?
Honestly, no. Parasite testing is unreliable. You can test positive one day and negative the next because these critters know how to evade detection. That’s why I made our kits accessible. You don’t need a diagnosis to start supporting your body.
Can you get parasites from tap water in the US?
Yes. We got our parasites from our own water in Washington state. And here’s the thing. Our country doesn’t test municipal water for nematodes, which are physical worms. So there’s a gap in what we’re checking for that most people don’t even know about.
What happens if you don’t bind during a parasite cleanse?
When parasites die off, they dump everything they’ve been holding. Heavy metals, toxins, spores, other parasites. Without a binder, all of that gets reabsorbed into your body. That’s why every one of our kits includes Cinnabin. It catches the toxins and helps push them out safely.
Is parasite cleansing safe?
For most people, absolutely. Our five restrictions are chemo meds, blood thinners, under the age of three, pregnant, and breastfeeding. That’s not us being cautious. That’s the herbs. Wormwood and Oregon grapefruit have specific contraindications. Outside of that, you can live your life while you cleanse. You don’t have to change everything for 30 days.
What’s the difference between herbal and synthetic dewormers like ivermectin?
Synthetics like ivermectin target specific worms. Maybe five. But they can disrupt other organisms living inside your microbiome that weren’t bothering you before. Herbal cleanses work across a broader spectrum. Wormwood, clove, black walnut hull, Oregon grapefruit. They address parasites, eggs, candida, and biofilm all at once. And you still need to bind with either approach.
Why don’t doctors talk about parasites?
Because it’s not part of the training. I spent 20 years in Western medicine. Two degrees. Ran medical colleges. Authored textbooks. And not once was I taught to consider parasites as an ongoing concern for Americans. The knowledge got lost somewhere along the way. And that’s exactly why I do what I do now.
